This is the place to be happy! Whether you want to simply relax by our INDOOR POOL or our heated OUTDOOR POOL and HOT TUB, soak up some sun on the BEACH (one of our guests, a very talented sandcastle artist, made the castle above!), enjoy excellent DINING and COCKTAILS or party hearty with the locals and the fast international race crowd, or spend valuable time with those you love most ~ you've come to the right place.
Elkhart Lake's crystal clear waters are refreshing for swimming or boating. WATERSPORTS , operated by Tim Brown on our beachfront, offers kayaking, canoeing, fishing, bumper boats, water skiing, wakeboarding or a nice sunset cocktail cruise to end a perfect summer day.
The BACK PORCH BISTRO is open year round and serves fine dining in an artistic setting on the lake and our BAREFOOT TIKI BAR is where the party is for casual dining, cocktails, ice cream and live music on weekends all summer long, plus, there's ping pong and games to play on the lower level. Our THEATRE hosts live shows, musicals and fantastic live bands, check out our Entertainment & Calendar page. We have several PICNIC AREAS on our grounds for grilling and campfires, a lovely lawn for outdoor games and hammocks over the water for ultimate relaxation.
For the most authentic Americana 4th of July ever, Elkhart Lake is the absolute best place to celebrate, with fireworks on Friday night, parade on Sunday and bands and parties all weekend long on the first weekend of July. You will want to make it a family tradition!
International motor racing for speed thrills is only 1 mile away at ROAD AMERICA, celebrating over 50 years of racing in Elkhart Lake. Racing started in the early 1950's on the local streets right through downtown Elkhart Lake and around the lake, and you can drive the HISTORIC RACE CIRCUIT, the dedicated road of the original circa 1950's race track. There are very few places in the world where you can see the classic vintage cars and famous winning race cars up close and personal like you can for Elkhart's VINTAGE CONCOURSE on Lake Street.
If you love golf, you will find that there is no better place to be than right here ~ with QUIT QUI OC golf course only 1 mile away, Jack Nicklaus designed course THE BULL close by and Kohler's golf courses, BLACK WOLF RUN and WHISTLING STRAITS (hosting the 2010 PGA Championship) only a short 30 minute drive. In fact, there are so many terrific golf courses to play in this area that Golf Digest has named Sheboygan County as one of the top best places to golf in the country!
Horseback riding at ELKHART LAKE HORSE PARK, biking and hiking trails and cross country skiing through the KETTLE MORAINE FOREST and naturally beautiful GREENBUSH STATE PARK are all just minutes away. Autumn drives on the SCENIC TRAIL are truly breathtaking .
World class ASPIRA SPA is within walking distance, as is the downtown of the quaint lakeside Village of Elkhart Lake with art galleries, eclectic shops, great restaurants and lively taverns. Visit the Saturday morning FARMER'S AND ARTISANS MARKET by the historic DEPOT MUSEUM downtown (in the late 19th century, wealthy Chicagoans eager to have a respite from unhealthy industrial air, took the train to Elkhart Lake for it's 'restorative waters') or go bowling at ANCHOR LANES. Nearby Osthoff Resort's Spring JAZZ ON THE VINE in May and OLD WORLD CHRISTMAS MARKET in December puts everyone into a cheerful holiday mood.
Elkhart Lake hosts a TRIATHALON in June and a MARATHON & ENDURANCE RACE Memorial Day Weekend for running enthusiasts and for a more leisurely pace, there is a walking path around the lake. HENSCHEL'S INDIAN MUSEUM and WADE HOUSE HISTORIC SITE near Elkhart Lake catch the spirit of our past and for a small side trip to Sheboygan, 30 minutes away, offers a CHILDREN'S MUSEUM, the nationally recognized KOHLER ARTS CENTER and a Lake Michigan MARINA DISTRICT with shops and restaurants. KOHLER DESIGN CENTER at the WOODLAKE SHOPPING CENTER in Kohler is about a 20 minute drive.
